Shaahin Pishbin

Shaahin is a PhD candidate in the Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations department. He research focuses on Persian literary culture between early modern Iran and South Asia, exploring questions of poetics, stylistics, rhetorical thought, and canon formation. He is especially interested in the innovative lyric poetry of Jalāl Asīr, a once influential but now long-forgotten poet from Safavid Isfahan.
